Identity Run Error (a poem)

STOP!

NEVER OPEN AFTER DARK!

run as fast as you can and don’t look back

[OK]

Question: do you go looking for other people’s mistakes

[a Medusa head lies dead or sleeping in a blood red ocean or desert

larger than the horizon]

to avoid looking at your own?

[a group of men or many-headed Hercules stands in the foreground

assessing her

distance]

Answers, assorted:

THE VIRGO:

you look for any excuse at all to like people who will never like you. I’m just

very gently

calling you out.

THE LEO:

it’s important to remind everyone that you can be simultaneously hot and familiar

with the AP style guide.

THE GEMINI:

it’s not a nightmare in the sense that you’re thinking, but it is medically

disgusting –

THE SCORPIO:

– and for that reason, we had to chop you.

Replace [people] with “Snake People”

Replace [now] with “Time of Shedding and Cold Rocks”

See Also:

you’re doing yourself a disservice

if you spend more time upset at having feelings

than just letting yourself feel them.

Week of 2/21 in Scorpio:

Large and everpresent are these feelings.

They lead down a path where there is nothing but

another path.

[cold melting into legibility]

[a patch of ground revealed]

[cries “Oh,”]

Say with me –

Being myself helps end the cycles of suppression.

[a fantasy landscape, stairs leading to an infinite beginning]

What I am is nameless, but it is

good.
